God’s work.
Our hands.

As an active community of Christ, we understand our call to share the gifts we have with the world.

advocacy

As Christians and Lutherans we believe that advocacy is a public voice and witness to the Gospel of Jesus, and where the Church speaks with and on behalf of others in need. At St. Luke we take this to be a calling as part of the body of Christ.

We are engaged in advocacy from a place of faith, not of partisanship.
We invite you to speak your voice to leaders in places of power and position through any one of the advocacy groups or initiatives that we are engaged in, including hunger, environmental, and peace and justice advocacy.

Lay Visitation Ministry

Lay Visitation Ministry – bring Communion and good company to St. Luke members who are unable to come to worship.  By “extending the table” our visitation ministers build the communal body of Christ by building connection.  Our Lay Visitation Coordinator and Pastors match visitors with homebound members and provide training.  For more information contact: pastorbeth@stlukechurch.com

Community Table Food Box

On the second and last Saturdays of the month, St. Luke distributes boxes of food, meat, produce, and household products to our neighbors in need. We do so using a drive-through distribution.
Distribution starts at 2:00 p.m.

Priceless Company Quilters

The need for quilts is greater than ever, both overseas and locally. In response, the Priceless Company Quilters assemble and tie quilts for distribution to Lutheran World Relief, local agencies, and others yearning for warmth and comfort. If you enjoy quilting, join us and make a difference.

St. Luke Emergency Buddies
From its inception, the Church was intended as a deep community of mutual support: originally a counter-cultural movement of relationship reflecting Christ’s love, the members of early congregations relied on one another through times of crisis. Following the Early Church, we as St. Luke have the opportunity to be true community for one another and the chance to prepare before the next emergency strikes.

If you seek deeper community connection and you want to be prepared to handle together what the future will bring, join St. Luke’s Emergency Buddies ministry to be partnered with another St. Luke household. For more information contact us through the link below.

Social Concerns Committee

The Social Concerns “Outreach Ministries” are supported through congregational giving (benevolence) addressing issues of poverty, hunger, shelter, clothing, community health, refugees, education, advocacy, and environmental stewardship. The Committee provides funding support for two long-standing congregational projects:  Community Table and Grauer Back-to-School.

This Committee is open for membership to anyone in the congregation and we invite you  to learn more about the Social Concerns Committee and the numerous nonprofits supported by congregational benevolence giving here.
