I've had the honor of serving as a pastor of St. Luke since 1991. First as associate pastor and then in 1999 as the senior pastor. It continues to be a great journey.

I grew up in the Puget Sound area of Washington State and have had roots in the Northwest for five generations. My family has been connected to the land through logging and supplying evergreens to local florists for years. Running heavy equipment and getting mud on my boots was a thrill growing up.

But after years of learning at Pacific Lutheran University and Luther Seminary I was drawn to urban ministry and served two Lutheran churches in inner-city Brooklyn, New York. My experience there was wonderfully challenging and I developed a heart for justice and walking with the poor.

Today with my wife and three children, St. Luke has been a home where justice ministry thrives. Hands-on ministries to those in need, funding local agencies that make a difference in peoples lives; these are the signature aspects of this inclusive congregation of over 1,300 members.

Come by. Not to visit, but to find a spiritual home and a reason to give yourself away in love following a living Christ.

I have served as a pastor of congregations for more than 40 years. Prior to coming to St. Luke, I served congregations in the Midwest and the national church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

My ministry serves to and with members and friends of the congregation who are pre-retired and retired. We seek opportunities for fellowship and service through St. Luke.
